The specific Power-Clamp® types LINEALS and Connectors are particularly used as bands for mounting expansion joints during production. expansion joints are utilized across a wide range of industrial applications.
Power-Clamp® LINEALS (clamps) and Connectors offer great flexibility in the installation of compensators used in power plants, incinerators, biogas plants, the food industry, paper mills, and cement factories.
Compensators are characterized by relatively large diameters and are often delivered in custom sizes. For those responsible for compensator assembly, maintaining an inventory of bands covering many and large sizes requires stocking expensive bands that are not frequently turned over.
By using LINEALS or Connectors, costly, slow-moving bands are avoided, while maintaining short delivery times for customers and installation teams.
LINEALS are delivered in segments, each with an adjustable screw. Segments are available in 8 different lengths and can be combined in numerous variations. For example, a min/max clamping range of 354/374 is achieved with two assembled segments, each with a length of 550mm. By assembling 10 segments of each length of 550mm, a min/max clamping range of 1,768/1,889mm is achieved. This allows for covering a wide clamping range with inventorying just one or a few types of LINEALS.
The same applies to Connectors. In this type of Power-Clamp®, strip steel is welded onto a brace to the desired length. This enables installers to quickly produce the required diameter of the band they need for the task on-site. All this requires is for the installer to bring Connectors, strip steel, and a mobile welding apparatus to the installation site. Alternatively, the band can be welded together at the workshop and brought to the installation site.
Both LINEALS and Connectors are therefore quick to install and cheaper to stock than pre-manufactured, conventional bands. They provide great flexibility in being able to mount almost any diameter with limited components in stock.
Both types are available in materials W1 and W5.
LINEALS are available in 25mm width, while Connectors are available in 20mm and 25mm widths.
In addition to bands for compensators, LINEALS and Connectors are also used for other tasks requiring bands in large diameters (from approximately 350mm).
Common to these is the need for adjustable bands with large diameters, for which a limited number per size are often used.
